Barite
API 13A compliant barium sulfate weighting agent. The standard drilling-fluid densifier for pressure control in deep and high-pressure well operations.
Overview
Barite — barium sulfate — is the inorganic mineral that gives drilling fluids their weight. With a specific gravity of 4.2 or higher, barite is added to mud systems to control formation pressure and prevent blowouts in deep, high-pressure wells. Five Rivers Materials supplies API 13A compliant barite sourced from qualified mines and processors in India and China.
Our material meets the full API 13A specification including specific gravity, particle size distribution, and soluble alkaline earth metals content. Available in bags, supersacks, and bulk container loadings, with documentation per shipment for QC and regulatory traceability. For high-volume drilling programs, we offer continuous-supply contracts with stocking commitments at our Houston and Long Beach hubs.
